The Land of Santorini on a Plate – A Fine Dining Evening
Santorini, with its unique volcanic soil, ethereal light and the endless blue of the Aegean, offers us precious gifts – from products of rare flavor to wines born within the heart of each traditional vine basket (kouloura).
On September 9th, and on the occasion of the presentation of the Santorini olive oil, Santo Roots, this magical mosaic of flavors from the products of Santo Wines met the refined art of fine dining at the acclaimed Lauda Restaurant of the Andronis Hotels group, creating an evening dedicated to Santorini – its land and its people.
In a menu designed with care and creativity by Head Chef George Dospras, under the guidance of Chef Emmanuel Renaut, holder of three Michelin stars, all Santo Wines products were masterfully incorporated – with the Santo Roots olive oil taking center stage, along with other PDO traditional products of Santorini, such as Santorini tomato paste, Santorini fava, and capers. Each dish was transformed into a gastronomic experience that paid tribute to the island’s rich terroir.
The Wine Director of the group, Sotiris Kandylis, exclusively selected wines from the Santo Wines labels, creating a pairing that journeyed through time – connecting new and old vintages, dating back to 2009 – an ode to time, patience, and the passion of our winemakers.
The evening demonstrated how the unique combination of tradition, quality, and haute gastronomy can make the island shine in all its glory, offering an experience that will be long remembered. From the land to the table, every moment reflected the soul of Santorini, while Santo Wines continued to strengthen its position as an ambassador of the island’s premium products on the global gastronomic map, uniting tradition with contemporary creativity.
